The Sakrebyle Elephant Camp is a forest camp located in the state of Karnataka, designed to train captive elephants. Situated just 14 km away from Shimoga on the Shimoga-Thirthahalli Road, it is regarded as the best elephant training camp in the state and is maintained by the Karnataka Forest Department. The camp is a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts and tourists, providing a unique opportunity to observe these majestic animals up close.

Good Place to be inside the forest

Good Place to be inside the forest. Good hospitality by the staff. Food was ok. Could have been better. Need to make kitchen and store a hygenic place. Tented dormitary needs some rennovation to secure from insects, bugs and reptiles. Also provision for few more charging points. Would have been a much better place to enjoy if provisions were provided for few more activities like indoor games, swimming pool, a better court (sand court) for volley ball, and badminton court.

Great to spend time around the Elephants

Enjoyed our stay. Nice hospitality. All the staff are very friendly and they provide good support. It was great to spend time around the Elephants. Its nice to see the animals are being taken good care off. Definitely a good place for a family get away.
