The River Tern Lodge takes its name from the nearby island that attracts a multitude of river terns during the breeding season. The lodge is situated atop a hillock on the edge of the Bhadra Reservoir, in close proximity to Lakkavalli and just a stone s throw away from the northern boundary of the Bhadra Tiger Reserve, in the Chikmagalur district. With pleasant weather year-round, the River Tern Lodge is a perfect destination for nature lovers. The monsoon season from June to September paints the entire sanctuary lush and green, while the summer months from March to May might be a little warm.

Calm,serene, and captivating place

A beautiful place in natures lap for those who like to be away from the city buzz. Calm, serene, and captivating place. The JLR- River Tern resort is well maintained with very good hospitality, good food and well structured itinerary from the time of check in to check out so that you do not miss anything. Trailroot (special mention to Usha) helped us as always in seamless booking experience with suggestions.

You will be mesmerized

You will be mesmerized with the view of Bhadra River. We were in cottage no;10. The View will be more amazing if you stay in cottages from 11 to 23. Better to avoid 9 and 10. Log huts also have good view and near to the restaurant. If you stay in cottages, be ready for a good walk to reach the cottages. Even though I was my 2.5 year old daughter, we decided to stay in cottages and we enjoyed the walk.
